Chayilyam Runner

Chayilyam runner crafted by Killimangalam weavers uses natural dye-extracted vegetables and plants to give colour to cora grass. Chayilyam is a natural red pigment that gives that mystic deep orange colour to the face painting in Theyyam and Kathakali art forms. Here, vegetable dyes recreate that magic- a beautiful shade of brown with an orange tint- to adore your dining tables/other tables in your home. It takes an additional three days of processing to create this colour in cora grass, but it is worth the effort.

Handwoven with thin strands of cora grass stem, each piece is unique! Grass strands are compacted by hand to make the mat sturdy.

Washable in normal temperature tap water. Dry thoroughly before storing or using.
